Agardi

Hungary's first whisky-producing distillery, founded 2002 in Agard on the shores of Lake Velence, approximately one hour from Budapest. Originally a palinka (fruit brandy) distillery housed in the historic Sreiner manor surrounded by fruit orchards. Produces Hungarian single malt whisky matured initially in new oak casks then finished in Tokaji Aszu wine barrels, giving distinctive notes of ripened plums, caramel, and vanilla. Bottled at 43% ABV. A pioneer bridging Hungary's palinka tradition with whisky production.
