About

India's pioneering single malt distillery, producing whisky since 1948 but releasing single malt internationally from 2004. Jim Murray scored Amrut Fusion 97 points, calling it a revelation. Tropical Bangalore climate causes 12-16% angel's share annually (vs 2% in Scotland). Produces Fusion (peated + unpeated), Peated, Intermediate Sherry, and Naarangi (orange peel) expressions.

Deep gold with amber highlights; viscous with slow, heavy legs
Smell
Intensified version of the standard — bold honeycomb, butterscotch, dried fruit, and toasted malt. Orange peel and baking spice emerge with time. At cask strength the aromatics are powerful and concentrated
Sip
Full-bodied and intense. Rich caramel, dark honey, toasted grain, and muscular oak spice. The tropical Bangalore maturation gives a concentrated, almost syrupy quality. Benefits significantly from water which opens up citrus and floral notes

Sight
Rich gold with warm amber tones; medium-full body, moderate legs
Smell
Super fruity — plum, raspberry, cherry, and tropical notes of banana, pineapple, and guava. The peated Scottish malt contributes campfire smoke underneath. Floral wildflower notes and a touch of vanilla
Sip
Red fruits and citrus orange lead, then caramel and vanilla build alongside allspice and baking spice. Coffee notes emerge with dark chocolate and cacao bitterness. A soft honey sweetness balances the complexity. The 75% Indian unpeated and 25% Scottish peated malts create remarkable layering
Savor
Medium-long finish with peppery tingle anchoring the peaty tang. Brown sugar, vanilla, and drying oak. The fruitiness fades elegantly, leaving a warm, tingling close

Pale gold with a slight green-gold tint; light to medium body
Smell
Scottish peat at 24ppm phenol — vibrant peat smoke balanced with butterscotch and ripe fruit. Malty sweetness with herbal notes and a fresh, zesty quality

Medium-bodied with peat character layered over the tropical Amrut base spirit. Butterscotch, rich spice, and ripe orchard fruit compete with the smoky peat. Less aggressive than Islay-style peat — more balanced and fruity
