Blackwood Distillery

Craft distillery in the forests of North Hesse, producing single malt whisky with a focus on German oak maturation and smoked expressions. The name references the dense beech and oak forests of the Knüllgebirge hills surrounding the distillery. Uses locally sourced German barley and German oak casks alongside traditional bourbon and sherry casks. The smoked whisky uses beechwood smoke — a distinctly German approach compared to Scotland's peat. Two copper pot stills.
