Alpine micro-distillery at the foot of the Dachstein glacier in Styria, one of the highest-altitude whisky producers in Austria. Wolfram Ortner uses Dachstein glacier water — ancient ice melt filtered through limestone — and locally grown barley. Member of the Austrian Whisky Association. Maturation occurs in extreme mountain conditions at approximately 1,100m elevation, with temperatures ranging from -25°C to +30°C. Very small annual production. The Ramsau am Dachstein setting is a UNESCO World Heritage area. Produces single malt under the Dachstein label. Represents the mountain-terroir extreme of Austrian whisky production.
