About

Founded by Joseph Bertrand in 1874, one of Alsace's oldest distilleries. Pivoted to whisky production at the start of the 2000s, earning IGP Whisky d'Alsace for its Uberach single malt aged in 100% French oak from Alsace, Jura, Rhone, and Burgundy wine regions. Launched the St Wendelin brand in 2022 honoring the patron saint of Uberach. Ceased operations in 2025 after owner Wolfberger decided to centralize activities in Colmar, ending 151 years of distilling history.
