Distillerie Bows

BOWS (Brave Occitan Wild Spirit) is an artisanal distillery founded in 2016 by Benoit Garcia in Montauban, Tarn-et-Garonne, relocated in 2022 to Laure-Minervois in Aude to become a farm distillery. Garcia designed original copper stills based on 19th-century Lepine competition-winning drawings: a cucurbite followed by an inverted fluid column and cooler, with a long gooseneck enabling double or triple distillation. Produces around 10 hectoliters of whisky per year from local barley sourced from sustainable agriculture, malted at the micro-malting plant in Salvagnac. Range of 3 pure malt whiskies available since early 2020. Also experiments with intense barley roasting, Koji fermentation, triple distillation, and strawberry wine barrel maturation. Additionally produces gin, rum, vodka, absinthe, and brandy.
