About
Founded in 2014 by twelve friends united around a vision to produce exceptional whisky in Laguiole at 1,000m altitude on the Aubrac plateau. First distillation in autumn 2017 using a custom Stupfler still housed in a 300-year-old converted presbytery. Aging takes place in the former convent of Laguiole, built of granite and basalt. Uses over 30 different barrel types including port, Bordeaux, calvados, rum, and Pedro Ximenez. The flagship Basalte pure malt blends five cask types. A collective venture in one of France's most rugged and beautiful highland landscapes.
