About

Six-generation family distillery a few kilometres south of Cognac, on the edge of Grande Champagne. Jean Granchere set up the first still at Fontagard in 1878. Historically a cognac house, the distillery began producing single malt whisky using Charentais copper pot still expertise — the quintessential cognac-to-whisky crossover. French single malt aged in old French oak Cognac casks with Pineau des Charentes barrel finishing, double distilled in Charentais alembics. Facility features 10 stills. Won Gold at French Drinks Awards Paris 2025, Bronze at Tokyo Whisky and Spirits Competition 2023. Featured at Whisky Live Paris 2025. Visitor centre with tours and tastings.
