About
Small family distillery in the village of Farre in the heart of Jutland, founded December 2009 by Jens-Erik Jorgensen, now run by three siblings and their mother. Name combines Fary (village's 1475 name) and Lochan (Scottish Gaelic for small lake). Unique globally for using fresh nettles to smoke their malt — inspired by smoked cheese memories. Custom-made pot stills, limited production. Also produces gin, aquavit, and liqueurs from local botanicals. Founding member of the Danish Whisky Manifesto (2025).
