About
One of India's oldest distilleries, established during the British colonial era in Solan, Himachal Pradesh -- historically known as the mushroom capital of India and a hill station favored by the British for its Scottish-like climate. GianChand produces malt whisky using traditional copper pot stills at approximately 1,500m elevation in the lower Himalayas. The cooler mountain climate provides more temperate maturation conditions than tropical lowland distilleries, resulting in gentler angel's share and more measured wood interaction.
