About
Okinawa's most iconic spirits producer, founded in 1961. Holds six production licenses (awamori, spirits, whisky, liqueurs, craft beer, low-malt beer). Whisky sold under the Kura brand, one of Japan's most distinctive Japanese whiskies. Released Okinawa's first single malt (Kyoda Cask Strength 2020) on December 31, 2020. The Second Cellar houses over 2,000 oak barrels maturing awamori, rum, and whisky. Japan's most southerly whisky producer, leveraging subtropical Okinawan climate for accelerated tropical maturation.
