South Korea's first rice-based whisky producer, founded in 2003 as part of the Kwangjuyo Group, a company specializing in high-end ceramic craftsmanship since 1963. Located in Yeoju, about 100km southeast of Seoul. Unique in the global whisky landscape for producing single grain whisky made exclusively from 100% rice. Under the supervision of Master Distiller Saehee Moon. Matured in traditional Korean ceramic 'onggi' jugs handcrafted by the Kwangjuyo Group — a maturation method with no parallel in Western whisky traditions. The Hwayo X.Premium Rice Whisky is the first Korean whisky made exclusively from rice, bridging traditional Korean soju-making culture with modern whisky production. Represents a distinctly Korean approach to whisky that leverages the country's 2,000-year rice spirit tradition.
