Peter Affenzeller Destillerie

Award-winning Austrian whisky distillery in the Mühlviertel region of Upper Austria, near the Czech border. Peter Affenzeller is one of Austria's most decorated spirits producers, with multiple Destillata Grandmaster titles. Produces single malt, rye, and grain whiskies using locally grown cereals. The Mühlviertel's granite bedrock provides naturally soft, mineral-rich water. Member of the Austrian Whisky Association. Matures in a variety of casks including Austrian oak, wine, and fruit brandy casks. The cool, continental climate of the Mühlviertel (similar to neighboring Waldviertel) produces slow, complex maturation. One of the original members of Austria's whisky scene.
