Smogen

A small, fiercely independent Swedish distillery on the Bohuslan coast known for producing intensely peated single malt in the Islay tradition. Founded by Par Caldenby, a lawyer turned distiller driven by a passion for heavily peated Scotch. Uses Scottish peated malt (50+ PPM phenol) and matures exclusively in first-fill bourbon and sherry casks. The coastal location with salt air and maritime influence creates a whisky that has drawn direct comparisons to young Ardbeg and Laphroaig. One of the most acclaimed non-Scottish peated whisky producers in the world. Tiny production ensures bottles sell out rapidly.
