Finland's largest distillery by capacity (120,000 litres annual), located at the New Valamo Orthodox Monastery in Heinävesi. Monastery established at present location 1940 (original dates to 12th century). Whisky distillation began July 2014. Produces peated and unpeated single malt with distinctive church wine cask maturation. Separate 500 sqm maturation warehouse in Ilomantsi.
