About

Switzerland's second whisky distillery (after Locher/Säntis Malt), founded by master distiller Ruedi Käser in the village of Elfingen in Canton Aargau. Käser was among the first to distil grain spirit when Switzerland legalized it in 1999. The 'Castle' name references the nearby Habsburg Castle — birthplace of the Habsburg dynasty. Produces Castle Hill single malt and Edition Käser ranges. Uses Swiss barley and ages in a variety of casks including bourbon, sherry, wine, and Swiss fruit brandy casks. Known for innovative cask management and frequent limited editions. Has won multiple Swiss and international spirits awards. The Jura limestone geology provides distinctive mineral-rich water. A pioneer who helped establish Switzerland as a credible whisky nation.
