Zuidam

The Netherlands' premier whisky producer, a family-owned distillery in North Brabant near the Belgian border. Founded by Fred van Zuidam, who built every still by hand. Produces Millstone branded single malt, rye, and corn whisky alongside genever, gin, and liqueurs. The whisky program, launched in the late 1990s, has grown steadily and now produces acclaimed single malts aged in a wide variety of casks (bourbon, sherry, French oak, PX, oloroso). Millstone Single Malt has won multiple international awards. Fred's sons Patrick and Gilbert now run the distillery, continuing the artisanal tradition. Zuidam demonstrates that Dutch distilling expertise -- rooted in centuries of genever production -- translates beautifully to whisky.
